Eastchester Gardens is launching something historic: a Resident Inspector Program designed to put residents at the center of accountability and quality-of-life improvements. Programs like this are rare—this is being recognized as a first not only in our city, but nationally.

Why this is historic

• It formalizes resident participation in inspection and documentation—turning lived experience into actionable reporting.

• It creates a consistent, organized way to identify patterns (not just isolated complaints) across buildings and grounds.

• It strengthens transparency by documenting conditions and outcomes over time.

How the program works (high level)

Resident Inspectors will follow a consistent checklist, document conditions with notes and (when appropriate) photos, and submit reports through a defined process. The goal is to ensure issues are recorded clearly, routed to the right parties, and tracked until resolved.

What residents can do now
